The MIRO Study (Microbial Restoration in IBD) Awarded a Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund Grant

AGIRF is proud to announce The MIRO (Microbial Restoration in IBD) Study lead by Professor Michael Kamm and Dr. Chamara Basnayake was the recipient of a Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund Grant.

The Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund is an initiative under Victoria's Health and Medical Research Strategy 2016-2020.  The strategy outlines key priorities over four years to support new and evolving fields of world class medical research.  The Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund aims to support those in the early stages of health and medical research to translate their work into health and economic outcomes.

Minister for Health Jill Hennessy says of the awards:

“Victoria is home to some of the world’s brightest medical minds who are saving lives with their ground-breaking discoveries.....We started this fund to ensure projects that have the potential to save lives across the world don’t get held up because they couldn’t attract early funding.”
